One day I woke up and realized that at 60+ years of age I was at least 50 pounds over weight, at the end of a career that no longer valued my contributions, wounded from giving too much of myself away to others, involved in an unfulfilling relationship and feeling unappreciated and unloved.
Instead of looking around for someone to blame, I sat myself down in the corner of my room. I became very still and listened carefully. What I wanted was answers. What I heard was questions. Who are you? Do you know? This place that you find yourself, who is responsible? What have you learned? What do you want? Do you know? What are you here to do? What now?
As the questions swirled around in my head, I went to the mirror and took a long hard look, into my own sad, tired eyes. The longer I looked, the more clarity I gained and the answers came.
You are God’s precious daughter. STILL
You are the encourager of the masses.
And yes, you are responsible for your choices, your decisions and your actions, YOU!
The extra weight - a by-product of your unresolved trauma.
But you are not responsible for giving too much. Falling on the sword for others is what was modeled for you. A caring heart and a giving spirit are the gifts God gave you!
In all of that you learned that God is a restorer and a keeper. You lose nothing by giving, even to those who take advantage, but you gain favor, which is far more valuable.
What you want now is reconciliation with God, purpose for your life, peace of mind, love for your heart, joy and laughter, lots of laughter.
Knowing that you are here to serve opens the floodgates to purpose.
Next? The greatest adventure lies beyond the place of pain you are in right now. So shed it, like the cocoon of the caterpillar, your beautiful wings are strong and ready to fly. Black butterfly SOAR.
You are beautiful — inside and out! You are loved by many, many, many! You are a valued, priceless and special friend! I am so grateful that you are in my life! Liz
