Already Inside
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them. male and female he created them.
~Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)
Then God said, “it is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him”.
Isn’t it interesting that, after recognizing that it was not good for man to be alone, God did not just form woman the same way He had formed Adam? After Adam named all of the animals, no “suitable” helper was found. No suitable helper in the earth and no suitable helper among the animals. So what did God do? Verse 21 says that God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep and while he was sleeping he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh, then the Lord made the woman from the rib he had taken out of the man.
God recognized that the man needed help. He also knew that everything the man needed, had already been put on the inside of him. Remember, the scripture beck in Genesis chapter one, male and female created he them. If everything Adam needed was already inside of him, is it any difference for us? Why then, is it that we spend our lifetimes looking outside of ourselves for that which God has already placed within us?
This was a stark revelation fo me because I had spent most of my life looking for something that seemed to be elusive. I looked for my help in education, I looked for my help in religion, in relationships with men, I looked for help in careers and business ventures, I searched high and low for the thing or things that I thought I needed to become the me that I was destined to be, but to no avail.
I came to the conclusion that everything I needed was in God so I practiced religion. I studied and I prayed and I purposed in my heart that I would become so pleasing to God that He would grant unto me everything I wanted and needed, After all, all sufficiency is in Him, right? Well after years of praying, fasting, seeking after and “working for the Lord”, I was no closer to being fulfilled than when I started this journey.
And God laughed. “My precious, precious daughter, why do you strive so? Don’t you know, all that is required of you is to just be?” The tree does not “strive” to grow, it just grows because growth is ingrained in its DNA. Look to nature and learn. Your creation is not of your own making, but worrying hinders your progress. You suffer so, but your suffering is of your own making.
Who showed you this way? it was not me, for I said, “Come unto me and rest all ye that are weary and I will give you rest.” So rest in me and be at peace. I have already done in you what needs to manifest outside of you. As the mighty oak tree is in the acorn, it is already done.
